WPIAL INSIDER WEEK FOUR PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
6A: Aidan Cain WR Mt. Lebanon
Cain continues to take the WPIAL by storm with his work on the field, catching 10 passes for 212 yards for 2 touchdowns in the Blue Devils 24-17 victory against Cannon Mac. As it stands now for the season Cain has 51 receptions for 869 yards with 8 touchdowns.
5A: Dakota Sunday RB Plum
Sunday helped in the upset win for Plum in the 33-7 win against Franklin Regional. Sunday rushed for 81 yards on 14 carries and scored three rushing touchdowns, while also adding a 7 yard receiving touchdown.
4A: Howie Reid RB West Mifflin
Reid had 274 rushing yards for the Titans adding while 2 touchdowns which included an 83 yard touchdown run in the close 28-27 loss against Albert Gallatin.
3A: Ricky Guss QB Quaker Valley
Guss was the main proponent in Quaker Valley’s fourth quarter comeback against Beaver. Guss rushed for 3 touchdowns alone in the fourth quarter alone in the comeback. Guss passed for 133 yards for a touchdown and rushed for 67 yards while adding 4 touchdowns in the 45-21 win.
2A: Lance Hill Ath Laurel
Hill is listed on the roster as a wide receiver but played multiple positions and scored all five touchdowns in Laurel’s 35-7 win against South Side Beaver. Hill rotated in at QB while throwing for 68 yards and while adding a passing touchdown. Hill wasn’t done yet he added a 105 yards rushing while adding 2 rushing touchdowns and also had 59 receiving yards while hauling in 2 touchdown receptions.
1A: Dylan Rush RB Mapletown
Rush ran up and down the field against Avella, Rush ran for 524 yards in the 48-32 victory against Avella which set a WPIAL record. The past record holder was Armstrong graduate and current Yale running back Zane Dudek which he held the record at 492 yards.
