6A: Braeden Burchfield QB Altoona
Burchfield, the gunslinger from Altoona, was 23 for 33 equating in 471 yards while tacking on 4 TD’s. The domination didn’t stop there. Burchfield added a rushing TD as well. He helped Altoona beat Hempfield in a close shootout win 48-47 this past Friday to secure their second win of the season.
5A Micah Morris RB Fox Chapel
Morris rushed for 195 yards on 23 carries and scored 5 TD’s in the 41-23 win against Hampton. Morris now has over 740 yards rushing on the year in only 125 carries, leads a strong Fox Chapel rushing attack.
4A: Drew Saxton QB South Fayette
Saxton was 14 of 19 for 278 yards while adding 4 TDs. However, that wasn’t the most impressive feat accomplished in the Lions 42-33 win over New Castle. Saxton hit the 6,000 yard career passing mark. A very distinguished honor for the South Fayette general.
3A: The Aliquippa Defense
Yet again, the Aliquippa defense has shut out a team. This time, not just any team but the reigning Single A Champion Clariton Bears. The Quips held the Bears to just 9 yards of offense, the shutout was Aliquippa’s sixth of the season and fourth in a row. Quite the revenge against a Clairton team that embarrassed the Quips last year.
2A: Turner Grau WR Avonworth
Despite the close loss to East Allegheny 14-13, Garu lit up the stat sheet this past Friday. Grau caught 9 passes for 217 yards while adding a touchdown on the day for Avonworth.
1A: Robert Kennedy Ath Jeannette
Mr. Jayhawk himself completed 13 of 19 for 175 yards while adding on 4 TD’s and while doing damage on the ground as well, rushing for 145 yards and 3 TD’s.
