4A Mid-Season Report
Belle Vernon – The front line for Belle Vernon is lead by OL and University of Pittsburgh commit Blake Zubovic. Also on offense for Belle Vernon is WR Logan Pfrogner who has over 300 yards of receiving yards so far this season.
Montour – The Spartans have a plethora of athletes on the field for the with QB Kavon Morman and WR’s Bradon Lipford and Temple commit Ronnie Stevenson stretching the field on offense. Brayden Jones roams the defense at linebacker to be a sideline to sideline threat.
South Fayette – The aerial attack is still on full display for South Fayette with QB Drew Saxton leading the way with completing over 50% of his passes and throwing for over 1200 yards thus far while adding on 12 touchdowns for the season. The South Fayette defense is being lead by DL Ray Eldridge and LB Noah Plack-Tallerico to create chaos for opposing offenses.
Thomas Jefferson – The Jaguars of Jefferson Hills are still dominant as ever in 4A, and show no sign of letting up anytime soon. Led by two University of Pittsburgh commits OL/DL Devin Danielson and TE/DE Noah Palmer the front line for TJ has been stout at the point of attack.
West Mifflin – The Titans have an explosive backfield with Howie Reid and Parrish Parker accounting for over 1,000 yards rushing together; expect the Titans to have an exciting second half of the season with the dynamic duo leading the way.
5A Mid-Season Report
Fox Chapel – Fox Chapel has quietly come up the ranks in 5A so far this season, making some noise on offense led by QB Nick Gizzo and RB Micah Morris that has some thinking of Fox Chapel as a sleeper in 5A. Look for Fox Chapel to continue to impress people and to continue a strong offensive showing.
Gateway – Is Gator Nation back? They are making a strong case for it with an explosive offense led by QB Brady Walker who has thrown for over 1600 yards and thrown 16 touchdowns. The Gators also have Isaiah Cameron and Courtney Jackson two electrifying weapons on offense that make Gateway a dangerous opponent each week.
Penn Trafford – Penn Trafford has been a roll this season led by a stellar defense that has University of Akron commit Logan Hawkins on the defense line. The offense is led by Cam Laffoon, Anthony Cervone, Jonathon Gay and Cam Suman makes Penn Trafford a strong front runner to be down at Heinz Field.
Upper St. Clair – The Panthers have a potent offense that is led by strong rushing attack with RB Colin McLindon and QB Jack Hansberry leading the way on the forefront. Upper St. Clair plays a “bend don’t break” defense that has made some noise in 5A.
West Allegheny – West Allegheny is once again a contender in 5A with what seems to be no drop off of production and talent for the Indians. Led by versatile “athlete” and newly Duquesne University commit Will Weber, the Indians show a strong rushing attack with the “wildcat” offense. Defensively West A has linebacker Anthony Dellovade patrolling a stingy Indian’s defense, expect West A to be a threat in 5A and try to repeat at Heinz.
6A Mid-Season Report
Mt. Lebanon – The talk of the town has been Mr. Aidan Cain a WR who has been putting up astronomical numbers in the receiving category since coming back from two major knee surgeries. On the season thus far Cain has 61 receptions and over a 1,000 yards receiving which makes Mt. Lebanon very dangerous on offense and come playoff time be a sleeper in 6A.
Penn Hills – Penn Hills has some dynamic players on their team this year making them a potential dark horse come playoff time. Having such players as QB Hollis Mathis, RB’s Terry Smith and WR’s Daequan Hardy and Dante Cephas , rounding off a very exciting team to watch for the rest of the season.
Peters Twp – The surprise team in 6A thus far, the Indians are led by QB Jake Cortes and have a strong showing on offense that has opened some eyes around the WPIAL. Look for Peters Township to keep surprising people and make a strong showing come play time.
Pine Richland – The Rams have been a very impressive team this season; they have a bounty of weapons for QB Phil Jurkovec (Notre Dame Commit) that they can beat through the ground and air. They have weapons such as Jordan Crawford, Kenny White, Ray Falcone, and Ben Jochem there is no drop off in this offense pair those weapons with a strong offensive line that has Andrew Kristofic, Michael Katic, and Michael Dorundo the sky is the limit for this offense. Defensively the Ram’s are no slouch ether lead by Linebacker’s Tyler King and Anthony Cerminara, look for the Ram’s to be everyone’s favorite to raise the trophy at Heinz Field and beyond.
Pittsburgh Central Catholic – The Vikings are still very much a potent threat in 6A, they have key standout players that could make them a very dangerous team come playoff time. Led by QB and Lafayette commit Troy Fisher, the Vikings also have talented players such as WR/DB Cam Laconi, LB Liam Slattery and DE/OLB Brian Dallas to form a formidable group in 6A.
